 I decided that I would put on my warm outdoor clothes to go out and repair my bike so I fetched the out from the bottom of the pannier, where they have been for the last 11 days. On doing that, I discovered that they were soaked in the water and slurry which had been sprayed up from the road during my trip across Bodmin Moor in that storm, and they absolutely stank. I've washed them but now they are going to take a long time to dry, especially the trousers. I've rigged up this arrangement, which might help, but now I think I will have to leave replacing the spoke to the morning.
