 I'll stay on the main road instead. It has this wide shoulder which is marked as a bike lane. On this trip I have been through several cities where the roads near a university or large school have paw prints painted on them. I remember seeing them once on my 2017 trip but until I looked it up when I wrote this caption, I didn't realise that the place where I had seen them was here in Carbondale. The sports stadium on the left of the road belongs to Southern Illinois University.
