![]() A state law passed in 2009 designated the road which I have been on today as the "Rock 'n' Roll Highway" because apparently a lot of early rockabilly singers used to travel along it. This part of Cavenaugh Park is laid out like a giant guitar. Specifically it's an Epiphone Casino. One of the information boards here explains why they chose a model of guitar which wasn't invented until the 1960s and which a lot of those early rockabilly players never used. It seems to be because the Beatles sometimes used one, and they were influenced by some of the people from round here, particularly Carl Perkins.
