![]() I said that there a lot of restaurants nearby but actually when I would try later, I would find that even walking to McDonald's would be painful. The pain started about a week before I came to America, but got a lot worse the day that I flew over here. For the first few days it was happening deep inside my left buttock whenever I made certain common movements, like walking. My best guess is that it was a trapped nerve. Over the week or so since then, that pain has disappeared but has been replaced by the exact same thing in my right buttock. Also, both feet feel slightly numb, especially the right one. I'm not worried about it because if the first pain went away by itself then I expect the second one will too. By the way, you might guess that I got the first pain by riding a bike on the left side of the road and that now that I've come here and switched to riding on the right it has moved to the other side. That can't be the explanation though because prior to coming on this trip, I hadn't been on a bike all year.
