![]() For the last few hours I have been seeing amazing photographs of the aurora taken from all over Britain, even central London. I thought that here at sea with no light polution we would have an even better view but it's actually very feint. Another man who is here on the bridge taking photographs showed me a map on his phone which shows that although the whole of Britain and Ireland are within a region of high geomagnetic activity, the amount of activity here is much lower. This is the best picture that I got, taken in the brief period between when I worked out how to change my new camera's exposure settings and when we went back under clouds.
