 There is a major cycling event happening today, called the Five Boro bike tour. Apparently it's the largest charity bike ride in the world, with about 32000 riders. I've had to plan my route to avoid all the roads which are closed for it. These cyclists all have race numbers but this isn't part of the route. They must have already finished. When I collected my bike from the train on Thursday, the baggage handler asked whether I had come to New Yor for this event. It's probably why all the bike spaces for the Thursday night train had been taken.
