![]() The New Yorker Hotel opened in 1930 and had more rooms than any other hotel in the city. In 1976 it was bought by the Unification Church, also known as the Moonies, which used it as accommodation for its own members. In the 2010s, the top half was converted back to a hotel, while the church continues to use the bottom half.
