 One of my intentions for this trip was to get to speak some French because I haven't done that in a while. So far, all the hotelliers have happily gone along with that, unlike on some previous trips. When I checked in here, the receptionist told me that the restaurant was fully booked but that I could come down at six o'clock and choose from the menu, and then come down again at seven o'clock, collect my meal and take it out into the garden. At least, I think that's what she said. When I came down at six o'clock though, she said that there had been a cancellation so I could eat here after all. My suspicion is that she just didn't want me to eat in the restaurant dressed like I was when I arrived, and changed her mind after I had had a shower. In the restaurant, I chose this table by the window but it has the slight problem that when I am sitting comfortably, the wooden window frame completely blocks my view of the river. The food was good but not as much value for money as my dinner in Pont l'Eveque.
