 My bike seems to be performing a greatest hits tour of the best modes of failure from previous trips. Yesterday it broke a spoke, which happened a lot in 2009. Now the pedal has fallen off, like in 2019. Actually, now that I think about it, those spoke breakages in 2009 were spread over about 3200 km, and this bike has only gone about 1200 km since the pedal fell off in Sweden in 2019 so really this is still its current preferred mode of failure.
