Lübeck has seven tall green copper spires. St. Mary's and the cathedral have two each and three other churches each have one. The small spire to the left of the middle of this picture isn't one of them. Here, the cathedral is on the left and St. Giles' is on the right. I have a sound recording of them striking one o'clock, as heard from this location. In the recording, the strike from St. Giles' comes first by between 0.61 and 0.64 seconds, depending on how you measure it. However, because of the distances involved, the sound from St. Giles' only took 0.87 to 0.94 seconds to reach me, whereas the sound from the cathedral took between 1.56 and 1.63 seconds. That means that they must have actually struck within 0.08 seconds of each other. I tried moving to a different location for two o'clock to see how they sounded from there but then I could only hear the cathedral.
