I had been hoping to go to Harwich today to catch a ferry. On previous occasions, I have gone all the way from London to Harwich in a day, using this road. The shoulder on the left is fine for cycling on. Starting from here, it would have been a much less inpressive day's ride at only about 50 km so I would probably have gone by a prettier route. As it happens though, the first available ferry is actually tomorrow night so now I somehow have to make the already short journey take two days. My plan is to take a little detour today to somewhere I've never been before.
