I've taken a diversion into the village of Austerlitz because I thought it might be interesting. The battle of Austerlitz happened in Austria and was a victory for Napoleon's army, which is why the name is used for a station in Paris. Napoleon later established an army base here and gave it the same name. The diagram on the notice board shows how the base overlapped the position of the modern village. I didn't see any relics of it in the village, although there is this rectangle designed for playing boules. The sign next to it explains the rules.

The water fountain in the foreground was useful.
