 Oh. Just as I was riding past a car park, this "bike bus" pulled in and stopped. It turns out that the cycle lane along the dam is closed and will be for the next three years so all bikes crossing the dam have to use this bus. I'm glad this isn't a year when I'm fussy about using my own power. The bus doesn't actually leave for another 47 minutes. It must only do one round trip every couple of hours so I was lucky that it turned up and caught my attention just as I was passing the stop.
