 The spire on the left is the Bremen Drop Tower. The inside is a vacuum and scientific experiments can get nine seconds of near weightlessness by being placed in a capsule about the size of a person, which gets fired up from the bottom with just enough speed to nearly touch the top and then falls back to a soft landing.
