![]() The menu in this restaurant is weird. For a start, the waiter has to fill in these boxes and there's carbon paper underneath which produces another copy. Apart from starters and puddings, the only things on the menu are flammekueches. The menu translates the flavours of each one into English but never says what a flammekueche is. A poster on the wall in French explains that it's a traditional thing from Alsace, which is quite a long way away from here, and was traditionally cooked in the flames in a bread oven before the flames had died down enough to cook bread. I would describe it as a kind of unleavened pizza. They take quite a long time to cook and there is only one oven for the entire restaurant so the wait is about an hour. Annoyingly, after I had ordered, the people on the two tables next to me all managed to get hamburgers by ignoring the menu and just asking for them. They also got tap water, which wasn't mentioned on the menu. The only water listed cost about €5 so I ordered a beer instead. It never arrived but I still got charged for it.
