The black and white pennant flags must be a standard symbol of funeral processions around here. The ones on the hearse are made of metal. Later in the day, I would see a hearse which wasn't taking part of in a funeral and had its pennants covered up. All of the private cars in the procession were flying the cloth versions. After taking this picture, I carried on along the cycle path but of course that meant that I was riding alongside the funeral cars all the way out of the town.
