 What you couldn't see in the 2015 picture is that Salt's Mill is on both sides of the canal. You also couldn't clearly see the sculpture in the foreground. According to the sign, it is one of several which were the work produced by a metal sculptor and the pupils of a nearby primary school. "Under Micks supervision the children prepared drawings and then made their own sculptures inspired by their thoughts and feelings for this area." Predictably, some of them are a bit odd. This one is called "Salt pot slug". I would be interested to see the one called "Fish & drawers".
