 The last section of today's route, along the bank of the Willamette River to my hotel. I don't need to stop here but my attention was caught by the information board which explains that in the 1880s, the river looked like it was going to cut itself a new channel and abandon the town. The solution was to cut another new channel for it to make it bypass the place where it had been doing its own cutting.
