The plan is fairly simple. 24 days from now, there is going to be a solar eclipse. The umbra of the moon's shadow will pass right across this continent from one coast to the other, creating a swathe of land approximately 100 km wide and 4000 km long in which the eclipse will be total, meaning that for at least a moment, the Moon will completely block out the Sun. My intention it to try to ride from one coast to the other, staying within that strip. That will mean that everywhere that I visit on this trip will be somewhere which will experience a total eclipse this year.
