 I'm going to try to replace my back tyre every week. I would have replaced both but this man only had one, even though he said he decided a few weeks ago that it was the time of year when he should get some touring tyres in stock. He also put some rim tape in my back wheel to protect the inner tube from the sharp edges of the spoke holes. Amazingly, I had crossed Oregon without any and not had any trouble. He also adjusted the rear gear mechanism so that the previously inaccessible bottom gear now sort of works, and gave me a new magnet for the trip computer. The computer has had some difficulty registering the magnet in the last few days, and didn't work at all for the second half of yesterday. It seems that somehow the magnet had lost most of its magnetism. I don't know how that can happen.
