 I'm trying to change my plan for tomorrow. I had intended to ride to one of the big hotels on the far side of the city of Ontario, right by the Snake River which marks the end of Oregon. However, that would be 118 miles and would involve overshooting the bike shop which I want to visit the next morning. If I stay in Vale instead, I can reduce tomorrow to about 103 miles and still be at the bike shop by the time it opens. That would still make tomorrow the only hundred mile day of the trip. There are a few motels in Vale. I can find telephone numbers for them but not e-mail addresses, and my phone has had no reception for a few days and my Skype account has been locked out because it's just rubbish like that. I borrowed this hotel owner's mobile to try to book a room at one of them but the woman there said she couldn't accept my credit card beacuse it isn't registered to a US ZIP code. She did then send me an e-mail saying that I might have to let myself in when I arrive tomorrow night, and leave some cash in the room when I leave, but she didn't say how I could let myself in and then I think she locked up and left before I was able to reply. Vale and Ontario are both in the next time zone so it's an hour later there. That means that she might be able to e-mail me before I leave here in the morning but I want to leave early in case I have to go all the way to Ontario and after I leave here, I won't have access to e-mail or a phone.
