Villages around here have amazing services for their populations. This is Mount Vernon, a tiny village which has two petrol stations, each with a mini-market, a pub, a cafe, a post office, another supermarket and a motel. Its population is about 500. Even thought I'm still carrying as much drink as when I set off this morning, I've stopped because I fancied a cold one. I took that slightly to excess and got a slushie, which meant that I then had to stay here for about half an hour waiting for it to melt.
