 The McMinn County Courthouse. I think that even by American standards, the number of flags around it is a little ridiculous. Confusingly, the city of McMinville is in Warren County, five counties away from here. Just out of shot on the right is an old man trundling along the pavement on a Segway while on the phone. There's also a dog trotting about in the road. A lot of dogs have tried to chase me in the last few days but most of them have been either fenced in or on long chains so they couldn't reach me. Only a few have actually chased me down the road and even then not for very far, although there was a moment a couple of days ago when I had just been chased by a pair of quite aggressive dogs and was so shaken by it that I panicked when the shadow of a bird came past me. I think the silliest dogs are the ones which stand at the side of the road watching me go past and then only start to chase me away once I am already riding away from them. I have realised today that dogs which live by major roads are scared of the traffic so if I stay on those roads, I am unlikely to get chased.
