 I've just been to the bike shop down by the river so the bike has a new saddle and rear cassette and it's been fitted with one of the spare chains which I already had with me. There's a clicking sound from the pedal crank, which has been becoming gradually more constant ever since Kansas City, but the man in the shop was unable to replicate it so it's probably nothing to worry about. I haven't had a chance to test any of the new parts because it's only a very short distance from the bike shop to the hotel and half of the route is up this steep hill.
