 I didn't find anywhere to eat. That doesn't really matter because I've got loads of sweets and nuts which I have probably carried for about a thousand miles without eating them. The trouble is though that I didn't see a supermarket or petrol station either so when I come back here in the daytime, all the restaurants should be open but I won't be able to replace the sweets. There must be more to Independence than what I've just seen. For a start, I know there are meant to be two good bike shops around here somewhere but I haven't seen them yet. Because there are two, and another not too far away, I haven't phoned to check whether they have tyres. I'm just going to turn up tomorrow and hope that one of them has what I want. I would quite like to get another new chain as well.
