 John Eric Bartholomew, better known as Eric Morecambe after the name of his home town, was one half of one of Britain's most famous comedy double acts. He was also well known as a supporter of Luton Town. During his lifetime, Morecambe's own team were playing way down in the lower divisions and Luton were often in the top flight but the two teams now often meet in fourth division matches.
