 The first game here was in 1939. The original Fleetwood club was founded in 1908 but the current incarnation, Fleetwood Town, began in 1997. It has been performing remarkably well recently and has risen by 6 divisions in 11 years so that it is now in the third division, thereby becoming a new rival for neighbouring Blackpool. Highbury's current capacity is 5327, the smallest in the third division. The record attendance is 6150.
