Generally, far more supporters go to watch home matches than away matches. In some stadia, the area reserved for away fans looks absurdly small. Here, it almost feels like the Grimsby fans, on the right, outnumber the home fans, on the left. That wasn't quite true. The official figures were 1770 home fans and 1689 away fans so we actually outnumbered them by 22 to 21. They were certainly the noisier fans though. I heard somebody sitting in front of me question the accuracy of some other Kidderminster supporters' allegation that Grimsby "only sing when they're winning". In reality, they were singing and beating a drum from before I even got here.

Grimsby were once a serious club. They spent most of the 1930s in the top division and were in the second as recently as 2003. They seem pretty keen to get back up there. Their fans sounded pretty certain today that they would, having just spent that £100000 on new players.
