I've been studying the schedules trying to plan which matches to watch so I knew that there wasn't a League match here tonight. What I didn't realise is that there is a Cup match between Bolton Wanderers and Burton Albion. It costs £220 to watch a League match from one of these rooms. I didn't pay anything like that. The receptionist said that if someone manages to book a room for the normal price on the day of a League match then shutters get closed to stop them watching it, but that doesn't apply to Cup matches so I will be able to watch it from my room. I have had to sign a piece of paper though to say that I won't bang on the window or display any kind of banner during the match. Apparently, I am allowed to drink in here if I want but not near the window. That's the official policy on alcohol: it's okay as long as I don't get caught. Bolton are in the second division and Burton are in the third. I'm a bit confused about how this match can be happening now. As a second division club, Bolton should enter the competition in its ninth round, which I though was much later in the year than this.
