 Goodison Park. Opened in 1892. Capacity 39572. The record attendance was 78299 for a match against Liverpool in 1948. I originally wrote that I thought that was the highest attendance ever recorded at any club's ground. It isn't because Chelsea's Stamford Bridge ground once hosted 82905. Everton have the distinction of having played more seasons in the top division than any other team. Being one of the oldest teams in the league helps in that respect.
