 Here's a piece of luck. It turns out that there is a bike shop right next door to my hotel. The problems with the tyre had got to the point that I was considering ending my riding here in Invercargill and hiring a car instead. If I can get a good new tyre in the morning though, I'll happily continue. The only slightly worrying thing is that this shop doesn't sisplay its opening hours anywhere.
