 I think that part of the problem is that the shoulder where I've been riding, at the bottom of this picture, doesn't get smoothed by car tyres like some other parts of the road. It also often has loose stones on it. I think it's a combination of those which is causing the problems. From now on, I won't be able to admire the scenery much because I'll be concentrating too hard on trying to spot every little pebble and pot hole.
