 Driving the road will show me that if I had chosen to do it on a bike in this direction over this week and next week, as I had been considering, it would actually have been quite an easy ride. The two reasons why I didn't want to make this journey on the bike were that I didn't want to have to do 200 km in a day if the wind was aginst me and I expected that some of the roadhouses would be shut. In fact, there is a strong tailwind for all of this week and longer, and by driving the route I would see that every roadhouse was fully functional and open all day and all night every day, although they don't always do proper restaurant meals at night. Also, the weather is nowhere near as hot as I had been led to believe it would be. Unfortunately, this still doesn't mean that I'm confident enough to have a go at doing this road on a bike at some time in the future because I won't be sure of having the same good wind conditions.
