The terms of hiring this van said that I should check the oil and coolant every 500 km, which on this trip means every day. I asked the man at the hire office to show me where the filler caps were. I can see the one for the oil, and the dipstick, but I can't check that now because I've just been driving the van so the oil will still be all over the inside of the engine. I can't identify the water filler cap though. I thought he pointed somewhere over to the right near the battery but now the round thing on the left on top of the radiator looks more likely. I'm pretty sure it doesn't need any more water at the moment. The engine temperature gauge is reading nice and cool.

There aren't many other gauges in this van, just the one which shows the speed and the one which shows how absurdly fast it's drinking petrol. I would have to stop to refuel four times today. Apart from that, the only other thing on the control panel is a light which until now had permanently showed that one of the doors was open. After I stopped to take this picture, it would only intermittently show that.
