This is near where I got a haircut on my first day in Australia. I remembered that there were a lot of restaurants along this road so I've come here for dinner tonight. What I didn't remember is that they're all Italian. I had an Italian last night, after waiting at the counter in a quiet curry house for several minutes without any of the staff coming out of the kitchen to see me, so I didn't want another tonight. In fact, Lygon Street is Melbourne's "Little Italy". I now remember that when I used the tourist tram back in November, the commentary claimed that Melbourne has the biggest Italian population of any city outside Italy. I don't know if that's true but Lygon Street isn't the place to come for non-Italian food.
