 Today's ride is about 80 miles and the 7 intermediate little towns divide it up almost perfectly into 8 sections of 10 miles each. Town 1 is Uranquinty. The statue on the right here commemorates the fact that from 1948 to 1952, the town housed one of the main reception and training centres for immigrants from Eastern Europe who came to help increase Australia's rural population.
