I have found that on these trips, there are some jobs which it's best to do at the earliest opportunity, rather than waiting until the need becomes serious. Years ago, I realised that I should wash each day's clothes as soon as I take them off, rather than letting dirty ones accumulate. More recently, I got into the habit of getting all my batteries charging as soon as I get into my hotel room. This year, I've become conscious of keeping my water supplies topped up, even though that means that I'm usually carrying a few kilos of liquid. In fact, there's a big bottle of Pepsi strapped to the back of the bike which has been there since Sydney and which I've brought right across the Great Dividing Range without even opening.

The other situation which I now want to keep under control is the tyres. I replaced them both in Armidale. Now they are showing the very first signs of wear so I would like to replace them again. There were no bike shops in Blayney of cowra but a web search did show one here in Cootamundra. Unfortunately, it looks like it has gone out of business. I haven't yet checked to see whether there's anything in Wagga Wagga.
