 The Hunter Stadium. Among other sports, it hosts chariot racing, like I saw on the television in that bar the other night. I needn't have worried about noise from last night's pub. The merry drinkers who were there when I arrived in mid-afternoon had gone by the time I went for dinner and by 8 pm, it looked like the bar was closing. I've been getting to bed quite early myself while I've been in Australia but it seems that here, like in New Zealand, people don't tend to stay out very late. The strangest example of that would come later today when I would see signs around Gosford saying that some roads would be closed for the New Year's Eve celebrations but they would be back open again by 10 pm.
