Sorry it's out of focus. It's so bright out here that I can't actually see the image on the camera screen.

Ever since I replaced its tyres, I have been very impressed with this bike. Nothing has gone wrong with it at all since then. What I think is strange is that the spokes which make up the wheels have been absolutely fine, whereas of the three spares that came with the bike, which are what this picture was meant to show, one is now slightly bent, one is very bent and has just made its second attempt at escaping, and the other disappeared weeks ago.

For some reason, I became convinced that something would go wrong today. I've been checking the spokes frequently and panicking every time the bike makes a strange nose or goes over a hidden step in the road surface. For the last 20 km of the day, I would be completely bewildered by a weird noise which would happen whenever the bike was in one of its higher gears, regardless of whether I was actually pedalling or not. Just before reaching the hotel, I would realise that that was simply due to the loose end of the gear cable rubbing on the edge of the tyre.
