The clock tower, now surrounded by other taller buildings, is on City Hall, which opened in 1930. It was the tallest building in Brisbane until 1967 when it was beaten by the building with the big digital clock which I could see from my hotel. Apparently, they are respectively the largest analogue and digital clocks in Australia.
