This isn't rocket science, for a change. Instead, it's particle physics. The equation at the top, which isn't easy to read, shows a neutron splitting into a proton and an electron with the release of 0.782 MeV of energy. I can't identify the lower equation.

The first bike shop didn't have any tyres of the right size so I bought some thicker ones. They were Russian-made, very cheap and felt like they were cracking in my hands. I also bought the only inner tubes they had which fitted the new tyres. The tubes had car-type valves, which I thought was okay as my pump can cope with either type. It was only when I came to fit them that I realised they wouldn't fit through the holes in the wheel rims.

The second shop was better and the man in there spoke a bit of English. The best he could do was tyres and tubes which are thinner than I have ever used before. They fit the bike though. I rode it a tiny bit on the way back to the hotel and they seem to do the job. It feels a bit funny though. I think I'll be spending all day tomorrow thinking I've got a flay tyre just because I'm not used to slick racing tyres like these. They are completely inappropriate for the current torrential rain, which is set to continue for the rest of my holiday and is why I'm currently sheltering next to this mural, but they were Chinese and more expensive than the first two, which gives me more confidence in them.
