 Watching these barges calmed me down after my frantic ride to reach Rotterdam before sunset, which wasn't helped by the fact that I had been just following the cycle route signs rather than looking at my map or GPS. Towards what should have been the end of the ride, I was following signs to the centre. I don't know what they meant the centre of but when I checked where I actually was, I realised that it probably didn't mean Rotterdam so I was quite a long way off course and had to turn back.
