 This was quite an attractive shopping area. There were some pretty water features running along the street in places, some painted satues of foxes and, more strangely, painted pieces of machinery. It's been very slow going all day. Most roads in theis area have cycle paths alongside but at a lot of the traffic lights, bikes don't automatically get a green light at the same time as the traffic on the parallel road. Instead, I have to stop, press a button and then wait through a whole cycle of the lights. I seem to have spent a large part of today waiting. Now, I've found the B7 road, which often doesn't have a cycle path so it's much faster. It's also been sticking to river valleys for a lot of the way so it's quite a lot flatter than the roads between Krefeld and Wuppertal were.
