 The trams here are rather older than those in some other cities. I've just seen the answer to a question which has been troubling me since Prague: how the driver determines which way the tram goes at a junction. Here, he got out and poked the points with a big stick. The roads here are in pretty poor condition anyway but the cobbled regions between the tram lines are particularly bad. Vehicles are having to go very slowly to cross them.
