These pipes start at a power station to the North of here and run most of the way to Prague before disappearing underground so my guess is that they carry hot water to the city. This one certainly feels warm underneath.
Moments after taking this picture, the camera got caught by a gust of wind and smashed onto the bridge deck. As usual, the batteries and memory card came out but this time it also suffered two more permanent problems. The first is that the pictures come out strangely stripey if I zoom in a lot so there might not be any close-ups for a while. The second is that the protective lens cover has broken off so the lens is now exposed all the time. It's going to get scratched if I keep the camera readily accessible in the top of my pannier like I have been doing. For this afternoon, I kept it wrapped in a carrier bag but that meant that I was slower on the draw than usual and missed, for instance, a car with a Czech flag flying.
