 You can't read the inscriptions on three sides from here but they say "CASSEL 9 MEILEN", "COELN 25 MEILEN" and "PADERBORN 2 MEILEN". There are old German miles, each 7532.5 metres. They are the same as the Danish miles which I encountered in 2003. I passed another similar marker further down the road. Coeln is presumably Köln.
