The view from my window of the Buddha Casino.

I asked the receptionists here about where to buy a tyre. The both looked pensive for a while and suggested a few things to each other without sounding like they had much confidence in their ideas. Eventually, one of them said that there is a large hypermarket on the edge of the city which sells bikes and might sell parts. Ideally, I would like some new brake blocks, a chain and some more spare spokes as well as the tyres. Unfortunately, the hypermarket requires a membership card but he said that if I asked again at reception in the morning they would call the hypermarket and sort something out. What with the balding tyres, the chain getting jammed, the spokes breaking again and a few other knocking sounds which have only just started, I have considered replacing the whole bike. My main worry there is transferring my good pannier rack. I think I sheared the head off one bolt while attaching it to my existing bike and don't think I've got any spares for in case that happens again.
