Entering Sofia in the rain past all the car repair shops gave me a bad impression about the place. The centre is actually rather clean and smart. Bulgaria seems considerably more westernised than Serbia, which is a bit strange since Bulgaria used to be in the Eastern Bloc, which Yugoslavia never was. I don't feel like I stand out here, although obviously I do when I'm on the bike. On this walk around the city, I would see two other bikes, both good modern ones. I wonder where they get their tyres.
