 The chap in this bike shop has repaired my wheel now. It seems to be in better condition than when it was new. When I left it here this morning, I asked if it would be possible for him to fix it today. He said it would and told me to come back at 5 o'clock. Perhaps I should have pressed for an earlier completion since comparing the amount that he charged me to his hourly rate suggests that the job only took 25 minutes. I had been thinking of trying to ride the 40 km to Cambrai this evening but by 4 o'clock, I was so cold after hanging around in the town centre all day that I went and checked into another hotel here in Arras.
