 One more view of the road to the Hotel Stara, this time on the way down. Hotels' attitudes to the absence of an entry stamp in my passport seem to have been becoming progressively more hostile. Novi Sad didn't understand why I thought I had a problem. Belgrade and Smederevo said nothing. Paracin and Nis demanded to know why I didn't have a stamp. When I came downstairs this morning to start loading my bike, there was a policeman waiting for me. He must have thought it was reasonably serious to bother driving 12 km up this road. I showed him all the bits of paper I had collected and he said I should show them to the border guards when I got there, which was rather what I had been intending to do.
